Your receptionist as a revenue model

Posted on Tuesday, July 19, 2016

In New Zealand, they've been doing it for years! Selling activities and tickets at the front desk of a hotel or campground. For every ticket or activity sold, the hotel or bungalow park receives commission. The receptionist thus becomes a revenue model instead of a cost. Smart! Now you will think that this is also normal in the Netherlands. Indeed, if there is a museum or attraction in your immediate vicinity, it is smart to just sell the tickets at the reception. If you have several activities, museums, amusement parks or events nearby it becomes more difficult. Activities that have inventory (such as canal boats, bike rentals, bowling alleys and escaperooms) will never be able to do it by ticket, because you always need to know the inventory for these. Event tickets are also a challenge to sell at the front desk.

The best way is to have an online overview of the availability of activities, museums, amusement parks and events, where the reception staff can digitally print the ticket(s). The guest pays at the reception desk and the hotel receives a commission on this for the application. A kind of reception application. LeisureKing has developed such an application for large and small hotels and recreation companies. It is also a solution for VVV's and information points to sell everything at the reception desk. Suddenly money is being made on information. Also make money from your receptionist? Then contact LeisureKing at info@leisureking.eu or via www.leisureking.eu.
